The Making of “A Musical Tribute to Lorenzo L. Harrison”
Sacred Strings
Playing Music for God
Twenty years after Lorenzo Harrison’s death, his widow, Freddie Mae desired to do something that no one else had done, a tribute CD to honor Lorenzo’s steel guitar legacy.  This historical CD is the first of its kind to ever be recorded.
Freddie Mae began to share her vision and wishes with Del Ray Grace, her  God Son, and this collaboration gave birth to “A Musical Tribute to the Legacy of Bishop Lorenzo Harrison: the Husband, the Man, the Musician”.
Freddie Mae Harrison, now eighty years of age, is seated in Zeta Recording Studios delivering her heart felt tribute to her late husband, Bishop Lorenzo Harrison as he plays softly on Track 2 entitled "Hear those Golden Bells".
Lorenzo and Freddie Mae Harrison united in Holy Matrimony in1980 and resided in Indianapolis Indiana. They were a model Christian couple, very much in love with the Lord and each other. They spent much time together and were seldom seen apart.
Lorenzo was a God fearing man and dedicated his life to the work of the Lord as a church administrator, teacher, preacher and as a musician.
During church services Freddie Mae always had a seat close by Lorenzo as he ministered on the stringed instrument. Lorenzo played his steel guitar with the skill of a surgeon and with the anointing of God. Lorenzo single handedly changed the whole concept of what could be played on the steel guitar.  He is indeed the father of the Jewell Dominion steel guitar tradition.

Bishop Freddie Mae Harrison has acquired a very impressive resume as a servant of the Lord. From a child she was taught to love the Lord with all of her heart, soul, mind and strength. She held many positions in the grand old Church of the Living God and as a young lady of eleven years old, she taught evening bible studies and was later appointed the Official Mistress of Ceremonies for the church, a position that she held for over 40 years.

She was appointed Vice President of the Young Peoples Assembly, and served as Presiding Elder of State-Line, Detroit and Mt. Clemens Michigan, Baltimore Maryland, Toledo and Cleveland Ohio. She is now 80 years of age and often reminisces over the precious memories that remain protected in her heart to this day. Looking back over her life she has no regrets, and says, “It hasn’t all been bad”. When asked about Lorenzo she says with a smile, “Bishop really knew how to treat a lady”.  Her testimony is “Down through the years, the Lord has been good to me”.
