Sacred Strings Records is a one of a kind, independent record label established in Toledo, Ohio by Del & Kelli Grace September 2006. We created this record label as a way to preserve our rich steel guitar heritage while at the same time sharing it with others.
Sacred Strings Records, will provide some of the most phenomenal African American steel guitar players ears have never heard. The Church of the Living God, founded in 1903 by Mother Mary Lena Lewis Tate, is responsible for giving birth to this new species of steel guitar music, a rare find in the American music culture.
By reviving this music, we hope to fill the unfortunate void created when our most prominent legends began to pass off the scene. Sacred Strings Records will ensure that future generations will get the opportunity to hear and experience this great musical tradition.
Sacred Steel Catalog, is the largest video collection of sacred steel players on the world wide web. The catalog is used to showcase and celebrate many of the past and present steel players produced by the Church of the Living God over a period of seventy plus years. The sacred steel catalog is also a great resource for those interested in learning more about this unique tradition up close and personal. Visit www.youtube.com/sacredstrings.
Sacred Strings Showcase is an annual gathering of sacred steel players from across the country. On this platform you will witness some of the best sacred steel performances ever seen on one stage. During the 2009 Sacred Strings Showcase we honored and celebrated many of the past and present legends of our tradition with award presentations. The 2010 Showcase consisted of our first "Sacred Strings Hall of Fame" inductions. This honor was given to individuals who were instrumental in making this sacred steel legacy what it is today!
